Hi, my name is Utkarsh Bansal and I am currently a student at Georgia Tech majoring in Computer Science under the Intelligence and Info Internetworks threads. Some of my coursework includes Discrete Mathematics, Data Structures + Algorithms, Linear Algebra, and Multivariable Calculus to name a few. My enthusiasm for technology is not just limited to academic pursuits; I actively engage in innovative research projects and have an avid interest in the fields of quantitative analysis, finance, and software engineering. Additionally, I am involved in a variety of activities both on and off-campus, such as the GT Student Investments Fund, Big Data Big Impact, Google Student Developer Club, and the GT Undergraduate Consulting Club.   • Created Python scripts in Windows PowerShell to retrieve installed machine software and cross-referenced with 450,000+ CVE vulnerabilities within NIST databases to automatically detect potential threats with real-time updates.

Undergraduate Research Assistant at Georgia Tech

  • Currently engaged in a project with Dr. Kai James titled The Computational Analysis and Design of a Cross-Flow Heat Exchanger.
  • Employing PyTorch, OpenFOAM, ParaView, C++, and relevant libraries to develop a Convolutional Neural Network within the supercomputing PACE Phoenix Cluster for enhanced data modeling and optimized simulations in thermal systems.
  • Processing 15+ CFD features to produce accurate quantitative predictions of fluid-flow phenomena in OpenFOAM simulations.

Blockchain Research Intern at Georgetown University

  • Assisted Dr. Shin’ichiro Matsuo in researching the plausibility of Central Bank Digital Currencies in the U.S in advisement to the Blockchain Governance Initiative Network (BGIN).
  • Invited to present the findings at multiple conferences and received a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Stock Screener with Sentiment Analysis (May 2024 - August 2024)

  • Built a functional Python-based stock screener using relevant libraries such as finvizfinance to identify currently-undervalued stocks and utilized AI Sentiment Analysis with a pre-trained FinBERT model to provide a comprehensive stock market overview and individually-curated performance metrics to guide the average investor.

LLM Spotify-Wrapped App (January 2024 - May 2024)

  • Developed a Spotify-wrapped app using Android Studio that integrates dynamic music visualizations through an LLM API to show personalized correlations between music taste and listening activity with your friends and a community of 150+ users.
  • Designed OAuth2-based user authentication with FireBase and Google Sign-in with an under-100 msec response time.

College Scheduler App (November 2023 – April 2024)

  • Utilized the Agile methodology to develop a college scheduler app for classes, assignments, and exams with Android Studio, Java, Python, and FireBase that is customized specifically for students at Georgia Tech to manage their academic schedules.
  • Implemented a custom schedule conflict detection algorithm with FireBase FireStore to reduce scheduling errors by over 40% and integrated push notifications using Cloud Messaging to remind students of saved items and campus events.
